Today we are talking about some of the unintended consequences of fame. Recently the founder of Minecraft announced he was resigning from his company and if possible resigning from the fame he accidentally inherited with his products fame. This is happening at the same time that the NFL is struggling with the fame and infamy of some of their players getting in trouble with the law, and by extension in trouble with public opinion and their sponsors. There is also the curious case of Kanye West, a famous musician who is also famous for sticking his foot in his mouth. In Australia he was accused of trying to force a wheel chair bound audience member to stand up according to many news accounts but when details of the event and video showed up, it didn’t seem to really happen. Yet his infamy for foot in mouth disease ruled him guilty in the eyes of the public almost automatically.
