Associate Theme from StudioPress Speed Review

<p>This theme has some low overhead out of the box, making only 29 requests for files in its base configuration.  Sure you might load it up with plugins and lots of images, but at least you are not starting with a bloated theme.</p> <p>That helps it score some decently quick speeds.  Not the fastest, but not super slow by any stretch of the imagination.</p> <p>At $24.95 with an existing StudioPress account, it is not terribly expensive.  They have not yet taken this theme ‘Pro’.  So if you like it, now might be a good time to buy before they rework it into a Pro version and raise the price by $20.</p> <p>It’s also interesting to see the difference in ratings by Google Page Speed Insights from Oct 2013 until April of 2014.  The score dropped significantly over that time, indicating that a theme that was once deemed acceptable is now less acceptable.</p> <p>Ultimately WPEngine and Lightning Base currently have the two fasted speeds (from two different tests) for the Associate theme.</p>
